I’ve Been to Shebeen!

Given the fact Cardiff’s Street Food Circus opened its tent on the weekend I believe most of my readers would have visited that.  Although I am extremely excited to visit the Street Food Circus (there’s so much food I have to try there) I took the opportunity to visit Shebeen Festival in Manchester on Saturday.  Street Food Circus is there for a while, but Shebeen was only there for one day. You all would have liked it!  Good food, music, comedy and beer… Don’t forget the beer!

Street Food Cardiff – Street Food Circus: Another Exciting Street Food Experience in Cardiff!

Not too long ago I released information about both Street Food Warehouse and Depot Cardiff‘s new events.  Although I am a little behind releasing information about the latest I would still like to share what information I have with you all just in case you have missed it. DEPOT Cardiff Returns!

We can’t get enough of street food in Cardiff.  Only yesterday I posted some news about a brand new event called Street Food Warehouse (which you can read about here) and today I’m bring some more exciting news.

In recent years Cardiff has seen a huge growth in the popularity of street food and for good reason!  Cardiff is really starting to thrive in terms of street food and the growth is showing no signs of slowing down.  It’s a new year and I have been anxiously awaiting news about what we can expect in 2015.

If you don’t already know…. DEPOT is back! Continue reading DEPOT Cardiff Returns!

Street Food Warehouse: Cardiff

Street food.  We all love it and the thought of visiting London for the chance to try the extensive range of street food that it has to offer is an exciting one.  Unfortunately, the practicalities of doing that can sometimes make it difficult.  I live in Wales and although I would love to go, travelling to London would be expensive.  For my regular street food fix, it is simply not an option.

For those of you in Wales and in similar circumstances, I have good news!

Elm Tree Foods: Pies

Last weekend I found myself wandering around Abergavenny with my daughter.  Shopping, soaking up the sun (surprisingly) and looking for something I might be able to talk about on this blog.  I ended up with a few things to talk about.  One bad experience but also one or two brilliant discoveries.  Elm Tree Foods pies being one of them! “KEYSTONE – Independent art, drink & food all under one roof”

I don’t normally post things like this but since the street food scene is growing and I wish that it continues growing – I think it is important to do my part and help promote this.  I wasn’t asked to post it…. I wanted to and I hope that you might like to help too.

Keystone is just one project that is a part of this growth and they need your help.  In order for Keystone to build a high quality venue without compromising principles they need us, the public, to help fund their Kickstarter campaign and get themselves off the ground.

Cooking: Burger Time!

A couple of days ago I decided that I want to make the best burger possible in my own home.  Inspired by The Beefy Boys (@TheBeefyBoys) and my recent visit to Sawyers Bar and Grill @Sawyersmagor (review here) I gave it a go. I believe that I am competent enough in the kitchen to make a burger.  With the knowledge gained scrolling through Twitter recently, I should know how a good burger should look and taste.

Frankie and Bennys: Flat Iron Steak Pizza

Today I am ‘reviewing’ the Flat Iron Steak Pizza from Frankie and Bennys.  A part of me nearly didn’t post this review because Frankie and Bennys is a national chain also responsible for Chiquitos and Garfunkel’s Restaurants to name a couple.  I feel as though most of the people who write and read food blogs like mine only want to hear about the independent restaurants and food stalls/vans.  The ones people haven’t always heard about.

For the most part, I am the same.  There are countless reviews of Frankie and Bennys restaurants by bloggers and writers much more accomplished and respected than me.  Not many people would read this and not already know about Frankie and Bennys pizza. I like to read and write about the less well known restaurants and street food but I also want to write about any and all food that I enjoy.  So here it is.

Top Ten List of Places I Would Like to Eat!

Top Ten places I would like to eat.

I’m sure that just like me, many of you spend most of your time on the internet religiously scrolling through Twitter, salivating because every other Tweet shows images of some incredible burger, tasty ribs or a slowly smoked tender and juicy brisket.  If you don’t,  it’s probably because you are lucky enough to eat this food on a regular basis.  I sit at my desk feeling very hungry and extremely disappointed with my miserable lunch 99% of the time.  This does mean that, until now, I have kept a list of the top ten places I would like to eat in my head.  Some of them are actually very nearby and some are much further afield and will probably stay on my list for a very long time.
